Sup, guys? I hope everyone’s doing good. Today, we’re talking about Starbucks. Do they drug test? If you’re going to work at Starbucks and you’re concerned about having to take a drug test before getting hired or you work at Starbucks now and you’re worried that they’re going to test you, we’re going to cover that topic here today.

Let’s first talk about preemployment drug testing. Do they do that? Yes and no. I know that’s a terrible answer and you don’t want to hear it, but let me explain. Starbucks has a no drugs, no weapons, strict no drugs, no weapons policy. What that means is that they don’t tolerate it, and they will drug test you before an employment screen.

What does that mean exactly? It means that sometimes they do it, sometimes they don’t. The people who are hiring you are the people who are going to determine whether they need to test you for drugs. Usually, what they’ll do is just a quick simple five-panel drug test, so that’s marijuana, THC, I think I have the other one here too. Marijuana, THC, and cocaine, opiates, methamphetamine, and PCP. All, they test that, five-panel. A five-panel drug test is what they’ll give you most of the time, but it’s really up to the manager and the person who’s hiring you.

What I would do is take precautions to just be prepared to take a drug test. That’s getting synthetic urine. That’s getting detox about 10 days before the test. When you walk into the interview, I would be prepared to take a drug test that day. If you have your interview schedule, I’d take every step you need to get detoxed and that type of thing. That covers the preemployment screen. They don’t always do it, but you should be prepared.

While you’re working at Starbucks. From the sources I’ve got, from the friends I have and the articles that I read, what they do is they do random drug testing, but what that means is they don’t do it very often. It’s kind of a pain in the butt for them to do it. They don’t feel like doing it, so if they suspect that somebody’s on drugs, a lot of times, they’ll do it. I’ve got experience from this being in the military. If they suspect somebody’s doing drugs, then they’ll do a “random test.”

First off, don’t look like you’re smoking all the time, and second off, be prepared to take a test by taking a synthetic urine kit or a detox kit.
